Protect Your Data

If you arrived here because you think your PC is infected, here are some basic guidelines for the inexperienced.
  • If you are experiencing pop-ups in your browser, DO NOT click on them.
  • Do not install any software that originated from a popup window.
  • If software has already been installed as a result of a popup and it is detecting multiple viruses, do not delete any files without first checking the file names against known system files. (These are likely legitimate files that you do not want to delete.)
  • We recommend that you stop using the computer and call a certified IT technician to fix the problem as an inexperienced person attempting to fix the problem may result in data loss including valuable system files which may require reinstallation of the operating system. Even if these files have been deleted, they may be able to be recovered by a certified IT technician with the proper tools and knowledge provided they have not already been overwritten.
